A potential £6 million will be invested in the Malone Mews/Lorne Street shared housing developments and associated five-year Good Relations Plan”.

Margaret McLaughlin Senior Officer for Tenant Engagement & Community Services Woven Housing said: “We are delighted to welcome the new tenants to their homes and look forward to developing exciting projects over the next five years with local groups that will enhance Good Relations. Laura ODowd Director of Homes & Communities Ark Housing added: “I’m delighted to celebrate the official opening of these new homes at Malone Mews, which reflect Ark's strong commitment to meeting the growing housing need in Northern Ireland. “Housing For All developments” like this one give people the opportunity to live in shared, inclusive neighbourhoods where everyone feels welcome, regardless of background or tradition. Ark are proud to provide modern, high-quality homes that offer comfort, security, and a warm sense of community for all.”

The developments were officially launched on Thursday 27th November by Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly.

The launch event was filled with community spirit and festive cheer. Guests were treated to a performance of Christmas carols by pupils from Fane Street Primary School, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. The celebrations continued with a surprise visit from Santa Claus, who arrived with a sack full of gifts for the children. These moments remind us that shared housing is about building connections, promoting inclusion, and creating communities where people feel at home
