Roseville House is one of Ark Housing’s two dedicated centres for families experiencing homelessness. Alongside providing temporary accommodation, Ark’s Homeless Services team offers tailored support to help each resident and their family access essential services, build community connections, and develop the networks they need to secure and sustain long‑term housing.
During her visit, the Lord Mayor met with Ark staff and several Roseville House residents to learn more about the vital work undertaken across Ark’s Homeless Services. This includes the Floating Support Service, funded by Supporting People, which has assisted more than 600 people in the Greater Belfast area to stabilise their tenancies or move on to long‑term secure accommodation.
The Lord Mayor also shared updates on several Belfast City Council initiatives, including:
- The Complex Lives Strategy
- The Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy
- The Belfast City Council Cost of Living Support Guide
The Cost of Living Guide provides practical advice and signposting across a range of support areas, including:
- Warm and Welcome Spaces
- Help with Energy Costs
- Help with Food
- Help for Families and Children
- Help for Older People
The guide forms part of the Council’s commitment to connect residents with a wide network of support services throughout the Greater Belfast area.
At Ark Housing, partnership is central to how we support families. Our Floating Support Service works closely with community groups, family hubs, and specialist organisations to ensure residents and clients have access to the comprehensive support they need. It was therefore important to have the Lord Mayor highlight the Council’s Cost of Living Guide and outline the broader range of initiatives designed to help households during challenging times.
