Since launching our strategic five-year plan, we’ve been on an incredible trajectory. To put our progress into perspective, our housing stock has more than doubled—growing from 400 homes in 2019 to an impressive 867 homes in 2025. This momentum hasn't gone unnoticed; we were thrilled to see our Development Team shortlisted for Development Team of the Year at the prestigious Inside Housing Awards.
Construction & Innovation: Scaling New Heights
Our Development Team has been working at a record-breaking pace to meet the need for high-quality social housing. This year alone, we invested £7.7 million into new homes, marked by these incredible milestones:
- 53 New Social Homes successfully completed in the 25/26 cycle.
- 74 Homes officially started on-site.
- 319 Homes currently under construction.
Strengthening the Social Fabric
Growth is nothing without community. Ark's Communities Team has been the heartbeat of the "Housing For All" agenda. Through the Together Building a United Community (TBUC) initiative, the team has worked hand-in-hand with the Department for Communities and the Housing Executive to create new opportunities and build stronger communities.
In 2025, the team hosted 68 community events, reaching over 1,000 residents. From advisory groups to shared housing celebrations, we are proving that diverse, shared neighborhoods are the future of Northern Ireland.
Support Where it Matters Most
Our Homeless Services Team, supported by Supporting People, remains a lifeline for the Greater Belfast area. To date, they have provided essential guidance and support to over 600 families. As the need grows, so does our resolve to ensure no family has to navigate housing crises alone.
Excellence in Every Detail
Behind the scenes, our Property Assets and Compliance Team ensures our homes remain safe, warm, and reliable. We are proud to report:
- 90% of repairs completed on time.
- 97.7% gas safety compliance.
- £633k reinvested into stock improvements to maintain high standards for all tenants.
Looking Ahead: The Horizon is Bright
While we celebrate 2025, our eyes are firmly on the future. We have several exciting projects brewing in Belfast and beyond. Most notably, work continues on our flagship Tillie and Henderson scheme—a transformative shared housing development that will deliver 131 new homes to the heart of Derry/Londonderry.
