Homelessness Awareness Week aims to challenge the stigma surrounding homelessness.
Multiple groups highlight the vital work being done across the sector and ensure every person is seen, valued, and supported.
Supported by the Community Foundation Northern Ireland through the NI Housing and Homelessness Fund, this grassroots initiative brings together local organizations to deliver events that raise awareness in their communities. Follow the conversation using #HAW25 and #SeeThePerson.
Ark Housing’s Role in HAW 2025
Ark Housing is proud to partner with Homeless Connect in delivering impactful events throughout the week:
Stormont Engagement:
Our Homeless Services Manager, Gail McLaughlin, will share key facts and strategies on homelessness prevention with policymakers.
Floating Support Service:
Since its inception, Ark’s Floating Support team has assisted over 600 families facing complex challenges. Funded by Supporting People, this service provides confidential advice and practical help to families at risk of homelessness in Greater Belfast.
Belfast Central Library Installation:
Ark is partnering with Homeless connect to recreate a hostel room and show the public the reality of temporary accommodation. Visitors can write messages of support on a makeshift bed—these will be shared with local leaders.
Ark Family Hour:
On Friday, December 5 at 4 PM, join us at Black Mountain Shared Space for an event connecting families in temporary accommodation with the wider community.
Awareness Video:
We’ll release a video reminding everyone that no one is alone. If you need support, Ark Housing is here to help.
